It’s one thing to live in Hong Kong and try to be healthy, but what about those who are just visiting — even harder, right?
Well, a trip here doesn’t automatically mean you have to derail from your healthy ways, especially if you stay at one of these three healthy Hong Kong hotels:
1. The Peninsula Hong Kong
The Peninsula has a “Naturally Peninsula” menu of light and healthy meals that can be ordered at hotel restaurants or by room service. To stay fit, their fitness centre is super modern and offers a panoramic view of Victoria Harbour. Plus, there’s a whirlpool, cold plunge pool, steam room and sauna, not to mention a Roman style swimming pool with a timber-decked terrace to change things up a bit. The hotel even has its own ‘Guest Nutrition Advisor’ to offer nutrition and lifestyle advice — how cool!
2. The Langham, Hong Kong
The Langham in Tsim Sha Tsui has joined the awesome Green Monday movement to offer veggie menus every Monday at their restaurants, including T’ang Court, The Bostonian, Main St. Deli and more. I’m assuming they would be able to make these veggie dishes any day of the week though, so be sure to ask for and take advantage of their special menu.
3. InterContinental Hong Kong
At Yan Toh Heen, the InterContinental’s top-notch Chinese restaurant, you can order from the iHealth menu which focuses on diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and our body’s need for antioxidants. Ingredients include brown/red rice, flax seed, buckwheat, steamed dumplings, and dark green vegetables — yum! Besides the 24-hour gym, guests can also take part in complimentary Tai Chi classes every morning (except Tues & Thurs) and yoga classes every Sat and Sun morning.
Of course, it’s all about balance and you should enjoy all the good things (read: food) Hong Kong has to offer. But now you have three healthy Hong Kong hotels to choose from where you can balance your diet and make your trip here just a little bit healthier!
