It may seem like anything past Causeway Bay going East in Hong Kong is a dead zone for gyms, but that’s not the case. If you’re living or staying in the Fortress Hill/North Point area, here are five gyms to check out:

1) Air Fitness

Calling themselves a “hybrid training gym that focuses on service,” Air Fitness is located steps away from Fortress Hill station and is “a cross between alternative training and a traditional gym.”

According to their website, there is an indoor field turf, kettlebells, punching bags, and olympic lifting, as well as cardio equipment, dumbbells, and cable machines.

2) Eliment Fitlax

With a mission of providing clients with a work-life balance via YinYang and Five Core Elements, Eliment Fitlax has branches in Causeway Bay and North Point.

The five elements are metal (weights), wood (relax), water (steam and bath), fire (martial arts) and earth (nutrition), plus a yinyang zone for yoga.

3) Fitness First – Olympia Plaza

Fitness First at Olympia Plaza is one of the older Fitness First gyms in Hong Kong, but is quite popular since it’s part of the global chain. Inside, you’ll find the usual cardio zones, group classes, free weights, freestyle zone and personal training.

4) Go24 Fitness

If you work odd hours or just want the option of working out any time of day, Go24 Fitness is perfect. One of Hong Kong’s 24-hour gyms, it’s famous for being the gym that The Rock worked out in (albeit the Tsuen Wan location) but they’ve got a branch in North Point too.

Located next to the Sunbeam Theatre in North Point, Fitness First Kiu Fai Mansion is another branch of the global fitness chain.
