Farmworks: Fresh produce in North Point

If fresh fruits and vegetables get your heart pumping, you’re going to love Farmworks. I pass this place every time on my way home in a taxi but had never been able to visit during their opening hours, but lo and behold they were open today on a public holiday.

Inside, a lady named Mrs. Lam introduced us to the shop, which stocks fresh produce imported from Western countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, US, Brazil and Germany (among others). On our visit, most of her produce was from Australia.

They included fresh passion fruit (4 for HK$20), brussels sprouts (10 for HK$22), new potatoes, sweet corn, bell peppers, papaya, cabbage and other seasonal produce. Prices are very reasonable compared to high-end supermarkets that also import produce from faraway lands.

Farmworks also sells some beverages like coconut water and rice/cereal milks along with some Thai curry sauces, spices and salad dressings. The small shop gets new shipments of produce flown in twice a week to ensure that everything is super fresh.

We stocked up on passion fruit, brussels sprouts, potatoes, Thai green curry, ginger and coconut water for under HK$100 and will definitely be back!
