Finding a great tasting salad in Sheung Wan isn’t actually that hard. Here are some of our favourites:

1) Monsieur Chatte

121 Bonham Strand, Sheung Wan, +852 3105 8077

This French deli on Bonham Strand looks quite small from the outside, but there is a super fresh salad bar on the 2/F, and cute wooden dining area on the 3/F which is a great place to enjoy your freshly tossed salad.

A salad with 4 toppings (plus salad) costs HK$70. Takeaway or dine-in possible.

Lots of options at the salad bar.

My go-to: shrimp, lentils, carrots and beet.

2) Purple Tomato

2 Jervois Street, Sheung Wan, +852 6695 3623

A hole-in-the-wall type of place on Jervois Street, Purple Tomato makes fresh salad with generous amounts of ingredients piled on top. Prices are around HK$80-100 and there are many types of salads to choose from (e.g. Nicoise, Caesar, Greek, Chef’s, etc).

Takeaway only.

A full can of tuna is used.

3) Dandy’s Organic Cafe

108 Jervois Street, Sheung Wan, +852 2815 8221

Everything is healthy at Dandy’s and they have daily lunch sets that usually involve a salad. But my favourite is the mushroom and lentil salad, with an extra portion of seared tofu on top. It’s priced around HK$100 if I remember correctly but with a set meal including soup and a drink it’s around HK$168.

Dine-in or takeaway.

A warm salad for a change.

4) Kale

Rm 1301, Cheung’s Building, 1-3 Wing Lok Street, Sheung Wan

Kale said they were going to move to Quarry Bay soon but it seems like that hasn’t happened yet. There, they serve kale (surprise!) salads with meat options, sliders, fries and a mix of smoothies, juices and desserts. Their salad isn’t bad especially if you get the sole filet (with two big slabs of fish). I also really like their hummus and tofu add-ons.

Dine-in and takeaway.

 5) The Kinnet

3/F, 33 Hillier Street, Sheung Wan, +852 3968 7623

The Kinnet has a good variety of salads but the only downside is the relatively small portions. One of their lunch sets comes with a choice of meat/fish with two salad choices (HK$138) or you can just order the salads on their own (just don’t do takeaway because it feels like they give you even less). Choice of two salads costs HK$65.
