5 healthy delivery and takeaway options in Hong Kong

Healthy HKG healthy delivery:takeaway Hong Kong MANA

It may sound like an oxymoron, but healthy takeaways are becoming increasingly more common in big cities, including our home, Hong Kong. Busy city hustlers may struggle to find time to prepare and cook healthy meals amid a crammed work schedule.

What’s more, with the latest government announcements of restricted dining hours, restaurants have resorted to providing takeaways for the modern eater. Forget pizzas and burgers – we round up five of the best healthy delivery/takeaway spots to order from this month.

MANA!

Vegan chain MANA! has developed a cult following since its opening in 2011—and rightly so. A pioneer in plant-based, fast-casual dining, MANA! is a go-to for quick, healthy fixes, whether you’re a salad junkie or a wrap lover. The eco-friendly joint will leave you feeling healthy and happy, and actively promotes healthy diet changes to save the planet. Order your food for takeaway, or have it delivered via FoodPanda (depending on your location).

Locofama

We go loco for Locofama, Sai Ying Pun’s best-kept secret. Following a farm-to-table philosophy, Locofama believes in serving fresh, tasty and organic food directly to consumers, and brought in directly from local farmers—at an affordable price. Try a range of the healthy eatery’s organic bites, including the Turmeric-Pumpkin Soup, or the Fama Bowls for something a little heftier. The menu is available for takeout or delivery via FoodPanda.

Veggie SF

Inspired by dazzling San Francisco, Veggie SF is exactly as it’s name indicates—a vegetarian restaurant in an American-and-international-inspired setting. Decked in colourful, quirky interiors, the eatery has been around for some time now (10 years in fact) and boasts a cool vintage aesthetic, with decor ranging from old-school car plates to luggage tags on the walls. The menu is expansive in cuisine type, with favourites including the Indonesian Gado Gado Salad and the Ranch 99 Burger. Grab a sharing portion and deliver it to your door via FoodPanda.

Treehouse

The highly-anticipated Treehouse was launched by ex-MANA co-founder, Christian G. Mongendre in celebration of serving delicious vegetarian and vegan diets. With outlets in prime spots in Hong Kong—from H Queen’s to BaseHall—Treehouse offers a range of healthy meals and snacks from fresh juices to grain bowls and flatbreads, whilst staying true to its sustainable, ethical and plant-based ethos. Rest assured that everything on the menu is unprocessed to ensure a healthy gut. Try a selection of cold-pressed juices, cold brew coffees, kombucha and smoothies to complement your mains. Order via Deliveroo.

Fete Up

Healthy eating is the core concept behind Fete Up, an eatery which serves well-balanced meals incorporating a perfect combination of carbohydrates, protein, and fats at a reasonable price. Try a signature bowl, which includes five colourful veggies, or the Seasonal Special (at the moment, it’s the Nasi Lemak). Order takeaway from Central, Quarry Bay or Kwun Tong, or delivery via Deliveroo.
